Keurig One Cup Coffee Makers

Keurig single serve coffee makers use plastic K cups instead of aluminium T discs like the Tassimo. The K cup contains a filter, and the machine pierces the cup at the top to force water through it and at the bottom to allow the coffee out.

You can get pre-measured K cups, as well as reusuable K cups which you can fill with your own favorite brand of coffee.

Keurig are an American brand (though K cup technology is also used by Cuisinart and Breville). They make a range of machines from the Keurig B31 mini brewer to the Keurig b75 coffee maker - click on the images below for more info

The Tassimo Coffee Maker

Tassimo technology uses aluminium T discs, which have a pre-measured amount of coffee grounds within them, to produce a single cup of coffee. Though we think of this machine as a coffee maker, it can make hot chocolate, tea, espressos, lattes, cappuccinos and standard filter coffee.

The machine does this by reading the bar-code on the T disc, and then selecting brewing instructions that are designed for each particular brand of tea or coffee. Which means you get a perfect brew every single time. Even better, there is a wide range of T-discs to choose from.

Tassimo technology was invented by Bosch, a premium German manufacturer, (Bosch have a very good reputation - their machines last for years) and they have also licenced the technology to Braun, who also make Tassimo coffee machines. The most popular tassimo machine is the Bosch Tassimo T65

DeLonghi Coffee Makers

1064 8264 97

DeLonghi make the whole range of coffee makers, from state of the art espresso coffee makers to traditional moka coffee makers. For a long time, this Italian manufacturer was practically synonymous with coffee machines.

Here are some of the best Delonghi coffee makers:

Delonghi EMK6 Alicia Electric Moka Espresso Coffee Maker

The Delonghi EMK6 Alicia Electric Moka Espresso Coffee Maker is a compact coffee machine designed to sit on a countertop in your workplace or kitchen. It’s an adaptation of the the traditional stovetop coffee machine – instead of heating the aluminium boiler on your stove, it fits on an electric base that heats the water. There is an automatic thermostat which switches off the boiler at the required temperature.

It has a transparent jug at the top which allows you to see how much coffee you’ve made, and it makes 3-6 cups of espresso.

DeLonghi DC312T 14-Cup Drip Coffeemaker

The DeLonghi DC312T 14-Cup Drip Coffeemaker comes with a 24 hour programmable timer which enables you to wake up to a fully brewed pot of coffee. If you are in a hurry, you can use the pause and serve button which allows you to stop the brewing process to pour yourself a cup of coffee before allowing it to finish brewing the rest of the pot. The filter is made of nylon and is easy to clean, and the non-stick warming plate at the bottom is also easy to keep clean.

This machine is great if you are brewing coffee for a large number of people.

DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker

The DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker is a pump driven espresso machine with a stainless-steel boiler. Pump driven espresso machines produce a higher pressure than steam driven espresso machines, and the pump in the Delonghi machine is self-priming. It comes with a 35 ounce removable water tank, which makes cleaning easy, and a steam wand. It also has two thermostats, which means the steam pressure and water temperature is controlled separately.

You can make your espresso with either ground espresso or an E.S.E. pod. This machine comes with a limited 1 year warranty.
